OEM / ODM Service

OEM vs. ODM — What’s the Difference?

OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer)

  • Definition: We manufacture plastic injection molding based on your design and specifications.

  • You provide: 2D/3D drawings, materials, tolerances, performance requirements.

  • We provide: Engineering review (DFM), manufacturing, quality control, delivery.

  • Best for:

    • Proprietary designs / IP protection

    • Tight tolerances and specific performance requirements

    • Established products you already validated

ODM (Original Design Manufacturer)

  • Definition: We design and manufacture the product, which you can brand and sell.

  • You provide: Functional requirements, target market, budget, timeline.

  • We provide: Concept design, 3D/CAD, prototyping, validation, mass production.

  • Best for:

    • Faster time-to-market

    • Limited in-house engineering resources

    • Cost-efficient product development

How Do We Support You?

  • OEM: DFM optimization, tolerance stack-up, material selection, process planning, PPAP/FAI, stable mass production.

  • ODM: Concept → CAD → prototype → testing → iteration → production, with cost-down and manufacturability built in.

Typical Workflow

  • OEM:
    Inquiry → DFM → Quotation → Mold Design → Manufacturing → Trial→ Approval → Shipping

  • ODM:
    Inquiry → Quotation → Brief → Concept → CAD → Prototype → Validation → Mold Design → Manufacturing → Trial → Approval →  Shipping

Which One Should You Choose?

  • Choose OEM if you already have drawings

  • Choose ODM if you need design support
